Aly Halpert is a queer Jewish young adult musician based out of Millerton, NY. A singer, writer, pianist, drummer, and guitar player, Aly writes songs for building community, working for collective liberation and visioning different worlds. She believes deeply in the power of music to both awaken us to the loss and hope we carry, and shift what we can tell is possible. Over the last five years, Aly has been immersed in Jewish song communities such as Let My People Sing, has had the privilege to co-lead music at Eden Village Camp for three summers, and leads prayer with Kol Tzedek synagogue and Linke Fligl. Her songs have touched people all over the world, sung everywhere from national gatherings, and intimate song circles to quiet moments of personal prayer. Whether Aly’s songs are serious or seriously goofy, her awe at the importance of this work to mark time, heal grief, connect, and bring more life only grows. Aly loves performing and collaborating with musicians such as Batya Levine, Joey Weisenberg, Anat Halevy Hochberg, Molly Bajgot, Miriam Margles, Deborah Sacks Mintz, and really anyone who likes harmonizing.

When not practicing drums at 10:30pm, Aly enjoys swimming, convening with medicinal plants, organizing for climate justice, peer counseling, love-hating communal life, and connecting and playing with young people.
